Prayers for the Faithful departed: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Charlie McAuley. Charlie was the father of Fr Roddy McAuley who we all know very well in these islands. Fr Roddy is parish priest in Dunoon. Charlie peacefully passed away on Sunday 26th July in Oban. The Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 19th August at 10am in St. Columba’s Cathedral in Oban. We extend our prayers of love and sympathy to Fr Roddy and all the McAuley family as this sad time. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Prayers for Exam results: this coming Tuesday 4th August is an important day when exam results are issued. We pray for God’s blessing upon all pupils who are waiting for their important exam results.

Mass on Monday: there will be a Mass on Monday 3rd August at 11.00am in the Our Lady of the Waves & St. John on Vatersay. The Mass is for the internment of the ashes of the late Tony & Nan MacNeil of Vatersay/Glasgow. After the Mass the ashes will be laid to rest in Vatersay Graveyard. All welcome.

Tuesday Mass:  please note there will be NO Mass on Tuesday this week in Eoligarry.

Bishop’s Fund Collection: this weekend (1st/2nd August) we will take up a special collection in support of Bishop Brian and all that he does in his ministry as Bishop of our Diocese of Argyll & the Isles. Office administration and traveling around the Diocese are just some things that Bishop Brian needs support with- it all mounts up and so any help in supporting the Bishop’s Fund collection is important.

Recent Baptism: we warmly welcome into the family of the Church Donal Scott Eames who was baptised in Our Lady Star of the Sea recently. We wish Donal and his parents and Godparents every health, peace, joy and happiness.

Fr Matthias Stepper: we have Fr Matthias staying in the Vatersay Chapel house for a few weeks break. He is a Priest from Bavaria in Germany. We hope Fr Matthias will enjoy his break.
