Church Notices………..
Requiem Mass: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Domhnall Eoin Galbraith who peacefully passed away on Sunday 26th April in his own home in St. Brendan’s Road at the age of 64 after a long illness. The Requiem Mass will take place in St. Barr’s Church in Northbay on Wednesday 29th April at 11.00am. We extend our prayers of love and sympathy to all family and relatives of Domhnall Eoin. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
Holy Hour for Vocations to the Priesthood: today (Sunday 26th April) we will have Rosary & Benediction at 3.00pm in St Barr’s Northbay. We will offer prayers before the Blessed Sacrament for more Vocations to the Priesthood for our Diocese of Argyll & the Isles. We all have an important part to play in praying for more vocations to the Priesthood.
Sacrament of Confirmation: We offer out Congratulations to Anna Nicholson; Megan MacKinnon; Roselia MacDougall; Caragh MacKinnon; Millie McCathie; Calum MacKinnon, Anthony MacNeil; Calum MacLean; Sandy MacLeod & James Taylor- who were all Confirmed by Bishop Brian. We pray to the Holy Spirit to help guide these children in the ways of faith. Canon John Paul wishes to thank the Schools for their help in teaching the children.
Parish 200 Club: the draw for the month of April will be made after the Craigston Vigil Mass today. The names of the winners will be put into this weeks Guth Bharraidh.
Tea after Northbay Mass: next Sunday being the first Sunday of the month of May we will have Tea in Northbay hall after the Sunday morning Mass. All welcome.
The month of May: This coming Friday begins the month of May the month of Mary– in which we pray the Rosary more often and pray to Our Lady to help us all in our journey of faith.
First Holy Communion date: we remember the children who are preparing for their First Holy Communion this year. Sunday 7th June is the date for the First Holy Communions.
Castlebay Church Choir Practice: resumes each Thursday at 6.00pm in Castlebay Church. Come along and join in singing some new hymns and some old hymns. All Welcome.
St. Barr’s Church Bell: Canon John Paul wishes to thank all those who helped put the new parts in the Church bell and tidied away the scaffolding. We now have the Church Bell working again for another 100 years! Moran Taing!
Parish QR Codes: many people don’t carry “loose cash” anymore and so lots of Churches now use QR Codes to help people still give to their parish by digital banking. We now have those QR codes available for Castlebay & Northbay parishes. In all five church entrances are the QR codes. Also leaflets with the QR codes are available.
