Fr Donald MacLeod: we warmly welcome Fr Donald to the island for a little Easter break. Fr Donald will look after the weekend Masses and will stay until the end of the week.He will also look after the weekday Masses from Tuesday to Friday.  He heads back to Glasgow on Saturday 18th April. We hope the weather will be kind to him and that he enjoys a nice break on the island catching up with family.

Canon John Paul: will take a break while Fr Donald is on the island.

Funeral: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Ian Campbell of Glasgow & Barra who died on Monday 6th April in Glasgow at the age of 88. The Funeral of Ian will take place here on Barra this coming Friday 17th April at 11am in Our Star of the Sea in Castlebay. Ian will be brought of the ferry the evening before and taken straight to Castlebay Church. We pray for Ian’s family especially his wife Ann and the all family and relatives at this time. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon. May he rest in peace! Amen.

Craigston Vigil Mass: is now at 6.00pm for the rest of the year.

Parish QR Codes: Canon John Paul is aware that not everybody carries cash nowadays especially when they go to church and cannot put anything into the collection plate. Lots of Churches now use QR Codes to help people give to their parish so we now that available for Castlebay & Northbay. There will be leaflets on church notice boards and also you can pick up a leaflet to take away. Any donation to either parish is a huge support to looking after our Churches. Moran Taing!

Gift Aid Envelopes: are available for collection in the churches. If you pay tax and would like to give your Sunday collection as Gift Aid then please speak with Canon John Paul. A quick form to fill in and then you are allocated an envelope number! Easy!

Castlebay Church outside work: we are beginning to clear a section of the ground to the West side of the Church to make it easier for people to get access to the wheelchair ramp at the side of the church but also to help with parking.. With so much rain the ground becomes so wet and the grass gets easily churned up. The ground is being scraped back for a new surface and so that more cars may park alongside the church. Also a barrier will be erected for safety.  Canon John Paul is having the shed at the back of the church knocked down so that some more cars can park at the back of the church. This work has now begun.
