Recent Funeral: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Nannie Kearney (Nannie Phether) from Nask who peacefully passed away at he age of 94 on Monday 23rd February in St.Brendan’s Home where she had been resident for the last few years. The Funeral of Nannie took place on Friday 27th February in Our Lady Star of the Sea and then Nannie was laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. We extend our prayers of love and sympathy to all the Kearney family at this time. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
Stations of the Cross: there will be Stations of the Cross today (1st March) in St Barr’s Northbay at 3.00pm. Also during the week there will be Stations of the Cross after Craigston Mass (12 Noon) on Wednesday and also after Vatersay Mass (10.00am) on Friday.
The Rosary: on Tuesday after the Eoligarry Mass the Rosary will be prayed- reflecting on the Sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.
Lenten Prayer books: there are some prayer books for Lent available for adults & children. They are priced £1.
Northbay Tea after Mass: will not be today but will be next Sunday 8th March after the Sunday morning Mass. All welcome
Northbay Children’s Liturgy: during the 9.30am Sunday Mass children are invited to come together for their children’s liturgy and reflect themselves on the Gospel of the day.
World Day of Prayer: this year it will be held in Cuithir Church of Scotland on Friday 6th March at 7.00pm. All welcome.
Chrism Mass: The Chrism Mass is on Wednesday 25th March at 12.30pm in St. Columba’s Cathedral in Oban.
Castlebay Choir Practice: every Thursday at 6.00pm in Castlebay Church there is a choir practice. Always looking for new faces to come along and help sing well known Gaelic/English hymns and also new hymns. If you enjoy singing then come along.
Sacrament of Confession: an important sacrament to receive during the season of Lent is Confession. Saturdays in Castlebay from 9.30am-9.50am and Northbay 12Noon-12.30pm.
