Church Notices………..

 

Special Collection: the 2nd collection this weekend will go towards the Diocesan Pastoral Fund which helps support various projects in our diocese.

 

Stations of the Cross: there will be Stations of the Cross today (22nd Feb) in Our Lady Star of the Sea in Castlebay at 3.00pm. Also during the week there will be Stations of the Cross after Craigston Mass (12 Noon) on Wednesday and also after Vatersay Mass (10.00am) on Friday.

 

The Rosary: on Tuesday after the Eoligarry Mass the Rosary will be prayed- reflecting on the Sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.

 

Lenten Prayer books: there are some prayer books for Lent available for adults & children. They are priced £1.

 

Northbay Children’s Liturgy: during the 9.30am Sunday Mass children are invited to come together for their children’s liturgy and  reflect themselves on the Gospel of the day.

 

Chrism Mass: The Chrism Mass is on Wednesday 25th March at 12.30pm in St. Columba’s Cathedral in Oban.

 

SCIAF Bocsa Beag/ Wee Box: during Lent we are encouraged to take home a “Wee Box” and help support the good work of SCIAF. This year SCIAF are using a lot of Gaelic in their work. So here on the islands we get the BOCSA BEAG! This year SCIAF is supporting families and communities in ETHIOPIA. Please pick up a Bocsa beag/Wee Box!!

 

Castlebay Choir Practice: every Thursday at 6.00pm in Castlebay Church there is a choir practice. Always looking for new faces to come along and help sing well known Gaelic/English hymns and also new hymns. If you enjoy singing then come along.

 

Sacrament of Confession: an important sacrament to receive during the season of Lent is Confession. Saturdays in Castlebay from 9.30am-9.50am and Northbay 12Noon-12.30pm.

 

Parish 200 Club: this will be the last call for any subscriptions for the Parish 200 Club.THANK YOU to everyone who has subscribed for another year.
