It is always a happy day for our island and our parishes.  Let us keep these boys and girls in our prayers. Canon John Paul wishes to thank the schools and the teachers who have prepared the children for their First Holy Commmunion.

Deanery Jubilee Mass Meeting: Canon John Paul wishes to thank all those who came along to the meeting last Sunday. Also thanks to all those who made contact to pass on their apologies and wishing to help in any way.

The plan is to have an “open air Mass” at Northbay Grotto on Sunday 3rd August at 2.15pm with Bishop Brian and with the local island Priests and parishioners and  to mark the Jubilee Year of Hope- The Holy Year of 2025. Parishioners from the neighbouring islands will travel over on the 1.00pm boat from Eriskay and a bus will be available to pick them up from Ardmhor ferry and take them to the Northbay Grotto and also a bus will be abilable to take people back for the last ferry at 5.30pm. Canon John will ask the neighbouring Priests to find out a rough estimate of how many plan to come.

There will be two more meetings planned- one to discuss the Liturgy of the Mass; the music, readings, prayers and hymns and then there will be another meeting to look at the food and refreshments for the hall on the day.

Please note that on Sunday 3rd August the 9.30am Northbay Sunday Mass will be cancelled as there will be Mass at 2.15pm. The 11.30am Mass in Castlebay will remain -as well as the Vigil Mass at 6pm in Craigston.
