CHURCH NOTICES

Stations of the Cross: there will be no Stations of the Cross on Sunday. Instead the opportunity to go to Confession.

 

Craigston Vigil Mass time: from now on the Craigston Vigil Mass time is 6.00pm till the end of the year.

 

Mission Appeal: we warmly welcome to the island and to our parishes Fr Hugh Seenan who is the Provincial delegate for the White Fathers. Fr Hugh will celebrate the weekend Masses. There will be a Special Collection taken up this weekend for the Mission Appeal. Please be generous in supporting the Mission Appeal. Fr Hugh departs on Tuesday 8th April.

 

Confessions: While Fr. Hugh Seenan is in the parish this weekend and it will also be a good opportunity just before Holy Week to go to a visiting Priest for the sacrament of Confession.

Canon John Paul: is away on the mainland just now and he will attend the Chrism Mass on Wednesday in Oban. He will return on Friday 11th April. If anyone needs to contact Canon John Paul while he is away you can call his mobile number 07951128475.

 

Chrism Mass: is on Wednesday 9th April at 6.30pm in St. Columba’s Catherdal in Oban. All Welcome!

 

Holy Week: next Sunday we begin the most important week in our Christian faith-Holy Week. Next Sunday we begin with Palm Sunday and Palm leaves and Palm crosses will be blessed at all Masses next weekend. Then we move through each day towards Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and then Easter Sunday. It is a very special time of the year. It all begins with Palm Sunday next weekend.

 

First Holy Communion Date: we pray for the children preparing for their First Holy Communion which is Sunday 8th June.

 

Sacrament of Confirmation Date: a reminder that Bishop Brian McGee will confirm the Children on Saturday 10th May.

 

Gift Aid Envelopes: the parish gift aid envelopes are available for collection at the church entrance- so please pick up your new envelopes then. Have you every thought about giving your Sunday collection as Gift Aid? If you pay tax then you can gift aid. All you have to do is sign a parish form (either Castlebay parish or Northbay parish) and then you are allocated a gift aid envelope number and then you can give your collection as Gift Aid. It really is that simple and it really helps our parishes. If you prefer to do your Sunday collection as a bank transfer then it’s even more simple. The parish bank account details are……………….
