CHURCH NOTICES

Recent Funeral: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Brenda MacInnes (Brenda Dhomhnaill Phadruig) who peacefully passed away last Wednesday (3rd April) in St. Brendan’s Hospital. Our dear Brenda had fought a long battle with illness and now she is at peace. She “carried her cross” of illness with great faith. She did everything in her life with a smile and was always so positive when things where difficult in her health. Fr Bernard Fox celebrated Brenda’s Requiem Mass in Our Lady Star of the Sea on Saturday 6th April and after the Mass Brenda was laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donnie and the family and with Brenda’s sisters and all relatives and friends. Brenda was a wonderful character here on the island and she will be sorely missed. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Mill Hill Mission Appeal: this weekend (6th & 7th April) we have a mission appeal held by the Mill Hill Missionaries. Fr Bernard Fox will be here to make the appeal. The 2nd Collection today will go to support the work of the Mill Hill Missionaries.

Fr. Bernard Fox: we warmly welcome back Fr Bernard who will look after the weekend Masses. He is here to make an appeal on behalf of the Mill Hill Missionaries. He will head away on Tuesday 9th April. We hope he enjoys his stay on the island.

Congratulations: to Mish & KayleighAnne MacInnes who were married last Thursday in Galway in Ireland by Canon John Paul- in the beautful Church of St. Mary’s in Claddagh. Along with Canon John Paul there was a large crowd of family and friends from Barra & Vatersay. It was a wonderful and happy celebration. We wish Mish & KayleighAnne every blessing,  joy, health, peace and happiness in their marriage.
