Fr. Donald MacLeod: we thank Fr Donald for looking after the parishes over the last week while Canon John Paul was away. We hope he enjoyed his time on the island.

“Day for Life”  Special Collection: This weekend we will take up a second collection for “Day for Life”. A fund to support the dignity of all life- from the unborn child to the elderly. We have to pray continually for the dignity of all life and an end to the Bill of assisted dying in the UK.

Peter’s Pence collection: next Sunday is the Feast of St. Peter & St Paul and we normally take up a special collection called Peters Pence. It is a collection which is a gesture to support the Pope in his Mission. It helps support Pope Leo in his mission to proclaim the Gospel, promote peace and spread Christian charity. Therefore next weekend (28th/29th June) a second collection will be taken.

Recent Funeral: we pray for the repose of the soul of Neil MacKinnon from St. Brendan’s Road who died on Thursday 12th June  aged 74. Neil’s Funeral took place last Sunday 15th June in Our Lady Star of the Sea. We extend our prayers of sympathy to all the family and relatives of Neil. We thank Fr Donald MacLeod for celebrating the Mass for the repose of the soul of Neil. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.Amen.
