CHURCH NOTICES
White Flower Appeal: today we will support the good work of “The Society for the Protection of unborn Children” (SPUC) in holding a “White Flower Appeal”. It is an appeal in remembrance of those innocent unborn babies whose lives have been aborted. SPUC’s vision is for a world where abortion is unthinkable. This year’s appeal calls for the Government to end the pills-by-post DIY abortion policy. As well as ending the lives of precious babies, this policy lacks safeguards against illegal late-term abortions and puts mothers at physical and psychological risk. 86% of GP’s are concerned that this scheme leaves women vulnerable to coerced abortion. There will be a second collection taken up for the White Flower appeal.
There is a SPUC Postcard which can be filled in and sent to SPUC or can be left in the parish and it will be sent on your behalf. Please fill in a postcard and support the good work of SPUC.
Recent Baptism: we warmly welcome into the family of the Church Conall Iain MacNeil who was baptised on Saturday 13th January (the Feast of St. Mungo) in St. Barr’s Church in Northbay. We wish Conall every health, joy, peace and happiness and every blessing upon his parents & Godparents.
Parish Dues: normally we hand them in before Christmas but they can be handed in just now during the month of January.
Castlebay Church Cleaners: would anyone like to add their name to helping keep clean Castlebay Church? Maybe you can team up with someone? Or come together as a family to clean the church? Please let Canon John Paul know if you wish to help.
Sunday Collection basket & Offertory Procession: Canon John Paul is keen to get back to the routine of taking up the Sunday Collection during the Mass again and also for the collection to be taken to the Altar during the Offertory procession. In the next few weeks we will start.

Canon John Paul is very grateful to the teachers who will be helping the children.
